Coat hangers: The handyman’s other secret weapon

Inside of headlight

A couple of weeks ago I was changing a headlight bulb when I lost a small rigid piece of metal that holds the bulb in place (it’s a long and stupid story involving wasps, I won’t get into it).  I tried to hold it in place with the handyman’s secret weapon, duct tape.  That held for a bit but eventually melted.  Plan B was to rip off a piece of coat hanger and jam it in there.  Voila!  Worked perfectly.  I’ll still be taking duct tape along, but I might throw in a coat hanger or two as well.
